Anyone else kinda bored of the game right now?

This game is meant to be played casually. You fish, you grind some mobs, you spam chat, you grow potatoes, you AFK, you enchant your gear and so on.

It is kinda fun at it's current but if this game actually had real party content it could be addictive. You get bored of soloing quickly, especially in an MMO.

The game is intended to play however you want.

No, it is not intended for party play. It is almost completely designed around soloing.

It's mostly the way progress is made in this game. I have failed over 30+ times to duo/tri my boss gears, and having 9 alts with 30+ fs, no memory fragments left, doing boring relic scrolls and a lot of friends/guildmates leaving the game one by one, I really cant be asked to progress. I have finally got lvl 60 a month ago and atm I'm just collecting rewards, doing some lifeskill, trying to get some knowledge, chatting with random people etc.

Grinding for items and gear is just laggy and with my kind of luck, whats the point? I've never got boss item drop from boss, and enchanting boss gear cant even go duo, AND you have to play boring relic scrolls 5 hours a day to continue failing... It puts me off the spot like many others. PvP'ing with my broken gear is what I can only do to actually have fun in the game. I got all classes to lvl 56 with awakening, and I'm waiting for the so-called "2nd awakening", which I hope can bring back some of the fun times as before awakening came and all the problems merge has brought us.

I have also notiecd many old top guilds and people went from hardcore / semi-hardcore to casual playstyle.

My boredom is mainly due to the lack of drops.
No reward for playing = less interest (Note PLAYING, not logging in/staying logged in)
& the lack of drops over a month.... Well i've played alot of other games while leaving this one auot processing.

My boyfriend is having this issue. No matter how hard he tries he can't seem to ever drop anything.

Nor will any of his T7xT7 horse breeds give him anything but T6's, fft.

As I am a more laid back, take-my-time type of player, i'm not bored in the slightest.

I also look for group play when grinding or doing activities because it's much more fun than solo.

If this game gets the rated arenas (1v1 + 3v3 + 5v5) it would spark a whole new life into the game

Then the exp curves need a serious -----ing overhaul ;p

what ? you still have an heavy debt with moi. Your name is still on my debtor list, so go earn those 2 billion silvers.

(on a side note, we may compete for who gets to guru in blowing up things out of boredom first)

signed: a valk in your guild :P

I've said dozens of times on this very forum "Never yolo, always have backups" :P

Blowing up my gear was a symptom of my boredom rather than the cause though.

Grinding bores me and I've explored the content. I AFK fish/cook/process, build up my nodes, and make silver. If I feel like actively playing, I do so. To me, end game should be more than grinding and enhancing gear. Node wars are fun, but that's only twice a week.

There is always the open world dungeons to run as a party.  Lots of hard hitting mobs to kill.  You will need high AP/DP to survive though.

I guess the idea that I'm forced to play casually because of work and school has helped me to not burn out after playing since beta. Some nights I literally just sit around and chat with the guildies while waiting for bosses to spawn. I'm in no big rush to reach some bracket higher than where I'm at.

Been feeling it for a couple of weeks now; zero interest in nodewars because they are just awful and zero fun now, can only tolerate grinding for 2hrs max, then I end up just running around to see if anyone we're at war with is around for a quick skirmish or two. It's hard to find people across so many channels without that becoming a big boring chore too. Two weeks ago I walked from the lake above Trent all the way to Arehaza just for the hell of it.

I've actually had more fun going around bumping up my max energy levels by completing amity games/talking to the right people/getting knowledge on bosses but that got boring after 3/4 days too.

I was just so bored the other night that I bought 2x Tungrade earrings from AH and tried to pri them at 25fs. Failed. Bought another two and failed to PRI them at 30fs. No big deal, it's only 260M, that's not going to hurt too bad but then I began a game of TET roulette from a woefully low initial FS. Now I'm back to pri/duo gear. I kinda hoped having a target of regaining TRI would provide some impetus to keep playing (obtaining TRI on all my gear was a big driver behind my continuing playing of the game) but I'm not even mad; I just feel a great deal of meh.

I am going to focus on lifeskilling for the time being (I've spent the last 36hrs cooking beer and manaing my farms) to see if taking a break from grinding/combat for a while helps me refocus but I'm just not sure I want to; after a year playing this game intensively I think I'm reaching the point of no return/no reroll which is a shame because there has been a lot of time and actual money invested in the game and it is quite a detailed game. I think I've just finally realised it's a large but very shallow pool :(

Anyone else reached the stage of meh but then found more enthusiasm?

Honest question, ever thought of getting a job or going outside?

You are the type that needs a participation trophy

I'm feeling exactly like this so sick of not having anyone to talk too, no chance of enchanting without so much heartache

i miss wow/rift groups an chattering abandon aim

It doesnt hurt to actually go meet people and start the conversation yourself...I do it all the time.... I make it a goal to meet 2-4 new people a day.

Say what, grinding and casino-enchanting got boring after a year? Oh well, I guess it takes longer for some than others :P

I think the current problem is that there isn't any new content being released right now (except for minor patches) so players who've been there, done that are especially hitting a wall with the lack of new things to do... 2 weeks in a row of stale patches. Not to mention they're taking away exp weekend next week so unless they extend it I'm not even sure how they'll even keep their players motivated to grind.

I reached this a few months back. I ended pushing way too hard to 60 too early on a class that turned out to be nothing like what it initially was and I hated it. Ended up with a 124 stack and 60 stack trying to tet the dande and lost all will to enchant and play the class.
Unfortunately after I hit 60, school started back up and I didn't have time to level for a few weeks so I just afk'd for a few months and pumped out money for something I might want in the future.

I decided a few weeks back to reroll class and it was the best decision I've ever made in this game. The money I'd saved up was worth it in the end. Now I just want to get back into the grind and play and actually do things.

When will you kids learn.... these games are not a race.  All you do is when you race to 60 is say " oh I am 60 , get gud "...and the rest of the server puts you on block.

Then the truth finally dawns on you after this that you burned yourself out for what exactly ?

My wife and I've reached this point after playing since beta. We're pretty casual. For me, once I Tri'd my full set of boss gear,  weapons and accessories, did all the main story quests and grinded all classes to 56, I've found it hard to be motivated to actively play anymore. I've no interest in gambling for TET. Now all I do is train horses and manage my 45 workers. Occasionally I'll process stuff.

There's just no excitement anymore. Nothing new to do or explore.

nothing.

But How can we blame one who has too much time on their hands while playing an endless progression game?

It takes years of gaming experience, a certain level of maturity and actual real life responsibilities until someone can realize this...

Played since release, I did take a three month break to get away from it for awhile.  Like any other game you get worn out sooner or later.   Take a break, then come back and see what happens.

To answer your question, yes. And I've only been playing for 5 months with my main at 57 + 2 chars at 55~56

Grinding makes me depressed, can't stand more than 2 hours of it as well. Seeing as some people reach lvl60 so easily makes me question their sanity.

All I've been doing is attend world bosses, afk cooking and getting knowledge on mobs/areas...enchanting whenever the black spirit bestows some of my bf's luck on my gear

BDO is advertised as a game with "so much to do" when in reality the many things are just small features not actual content

buff ranger plis

I guess I should have been more precise.........Bought the game prior to release, played several months.  Then took a three month break and came back to play again.

Yeah it's pretty tragic and I've said before many times and people have flamed me for it but this game lacks a lot of depth. With it's visuals and early game quests it gives an impression like it's something like the witcher 3 but an MMO. Sadly there is no reason to play the RPG part, pre-valencia quests give jack shit eg 50 contrib xp so they're useless and the ones that are useful everybody knows them and they're usually boring af. No constant source of multiplayer activity like incentive to group or whatever as whatever reward you get gets decreased the moment you group. At least in other mmos you absolutely needed to group for dungeons, raids or whatever but this game, is just 1-2h node war a week if you're lucky to group up for stuff.

Yeah i'm on break for about 3 weeks now.  Idk what took me so long to take a break.  Got all BiS items to TET/TRI months ago and I hit 60 last year.  I'm just waiting for something worth it to maybe come back?  Idk...

I stop once i find a game to become more of a chore than something I enjoy playing. Which was why I pretty much just stopped playing and log in to claim the attendance reward and build play hours into getting achievement rewards just because. I mainly play casually now unlike before when I first returned. I just do whatever I can and basically have no actual goal I want to get at other than playing with a few people I know.
