What will happen when Kamasylvia launches?

Right now I'm average, maybe below average gear. 188AP/249 DP. I can handle Valencia mobs just fine, with the exception of Cadry Elites and Pila Ku jail mobs. Valencia is pretty dead, most of the games population don't venture either A) because it's so far, B) want to avoid the debuff or C) just don't have the gear to grind.

From what I have heard so far the Kamalsyvia region is even tougher. It took a long while for me to get the gear I have, in that same amount of time some others have had more luck and are already at 450-500 GS. I don't know what the number looks like but I'm sure it's less than half the population of the game.

So basically my thought is will I even be able to experience Kamalsyvia with my current GS, and what about the 100s of others (or maybe thousands) that want to explore that are no where near my mediocre GS.

P.S. I've also never been to Magoria because I get on for a few hours and if I did I'd probably only get one way to the island :/

I'm also wondering the same thing, because even after playing since Beta, I've only just recently attained a 500GS at lv58.. Honestly don't know if I'll be able to solo anything, but I am hoping to be able to bring a party full of guildies with me and explore TOGETHER! The guild that dies a horrible death together becomes closer in spirit. :D

I don't think but perhaps 10% of the player base is going to actually be ready for Kama.. We'll see how many people complain on the forums after it launches.

Agreed, I was being kinda generous on the numbers. I'm 58 as well, and might actually get over 190 AP for the first time ever if I can snag an accessory today but yea, getting to 500GS is tough and that seems like the magic number for the Kamalsylvia content I have seen thus far :/

Kamasylva is actually going to have grind spots similar to valencia and mediah, and obviously for those in the top 10%

If you can handle valencia, you should be able to step foot on kamasyvla grind spots (most not all). Though if you can take on the dungeons of valencia 100% youre good for the entire Kamasylva :P

Maybe, but I think it's rather unfair to design content to cater to 10% of the population as an "MMO".

might be unfair, but its the inevitable reality. But as I said, kamasylva will cater to 50+ nonetheless, heck this isnt that bad. Imagine the future regions thats more likely going to cater for the 60+ flat out.

But, nothing is locked to you dude that stayed level 1 this entire time. You can still visit everywhere... you just cant be expected to kill those mobs fast and efficiently enough. A level 1 can kill at sausan solo, sure it might take some time but its possible :D

I think they were hoping it would bring people to put more effort into obtaining the content. I know several Soulmates that are trying their best right now to gear and level up in time for Kama, but it really does take a bit of time. And as it seems, not a lot of us have that luxury. (some nights I can only squeeze in maybe 4 hours of play)

Life will go on as usual, 90% of the entire BDO population anywhere in the old "starter" areas, Mediah, doing business as usual (Sausages / Pirates / "lesser" areas, life skilling etc), a few % out there in the deserted desert (hah?) of Valencia and a tiny fraction will venture into the new area, first for kicks and exploration and until they realise how terri-bad it is and start losing precious crystal after crystal when our awesome servers decide to hiccup and mobs there chew them mercilessly. Great fun!

Well every MMO does this. Its not exclusive to  MMO either, its common in games to have content for the hardcore that most people never experience.

Blizzard used to talk about how they knew their super special dungeons were only even attempted by a super small percentage of players, like 1%.  But they did them anyway.

The biggest issue  I see with BDO is that most of the game is super solo friendly. Then out of nowhere they have one or two areas that are really for groups.  ANd they are for groups with sick high  AP and all that.  So people tend to only want to group with players that have 220  AP for efficiency. Its really abnormal.

I still haven't even visited  Aakman because no one wants me in a group, and it doesn't seem friendly.  I've got 194ap or so, and ppl say  I'm a scrub and need not apply. Oh wells.  I expect  Kama will be no different.

The other issue too is  BDO just lacks PvE content after 57 really. So when they do add any content, if its only for a super small percentage of people its lame. Other games tend to have more content to pick from, so if a small portion of it is for the elite its no biggie.

Not a whole lot.

We'll have 1-3 posts saying "Kamasylvia sucks" and the maintenance "when" question will change to "Kamasylvia part 2 when?" instead.

Things might change once we get updates to Kamasylvia, such as the JIN, BON and WON crystals since they affect pvp balance, but till then not a whole heck of a lot.

A few things will happen with Kamasylve

- You will log in with more CP (CP softcap raise) ;

- You'll be able to get more max energy ;

- You'll go back to pirates/sausans once you're done.

Kamasilve part 1 is designed for high lvl ppl(60-62).

Kamasilve part 2 is designed for low lvl ppl (53-57?); with few spots for high lvl ppl.

This is confirmed by the developers.

Getting 480gs if u play a lot should not be hard. If you don't play a lot, well, u don't need to grind in kamasilve. For lifeskilling/questing/whatever else kamasilve offers, you don't need gear. It's quite simple.

Since when do levels carry you on BDO ?

You can be level 64 with 400GS, you still won't be able to clear Kamasilve optimally

Maybe, but I think it's rather unfair to design content to cater to 10% of the population as an "MMO".

Every MMO has to balance between appealing to the average player and the hardcore/whales.  The second group throw a disproportionately large amount of money at the game and must be kept happy.  This means some content will be hardcore-only.  And, considering that average players may not get through all the content available to them, while the hardcore players will tear through every scrap of content, the hardcore-only content has to be a larger percentage of the game than the actual percentage of hardcore players.

FYI, my highest character is 54 with something like 120AP and 185DP so I'm clearly in the scrub category.  :)

If you lvl high enough mobs will not be able to hit you.

Why you will not go for lvl 56-58 ? It would help you a lot and it's easy.

you forgot D) the grind there isnt really profitable vs lower level and safer mobs

and the story is worse with kamislav 1. the mobs are even more difficult and earn you even less money. so unless they nerf the mobs, itll pretty much be a novelty for most people save a few 240ap witchards who go grind crystals there.

I'll get there eventually.  I've set up a workshop to crank out Grunil armor and have started enhancing it.
