All they needed to do was show the percentage chance on enchanting and it would have saved 1,000's of hours.  Hours spread across so many customers who spend time looking up charts, and playing a guessing game to who's information was most accurate.

There are 2 options now, but I presume neither shows the actual chance?

Pst. The durable one is for failstacking, the enhance one is for newbies to get easier +15 grunil.

It's kinda hinted badly in the patch notes, but yeah, stuff like this should be ingame as well. What're ya gonna do.

This only further complicates the issue.  They made it clear what the options are for, but when it really comes down to deciding how many fail stacks is most efficient it's going to be a complete mess with data outside the game and differing.

you sure, the wording to me seemed more like "Durable" would -1 failstack  NOT +1 failstack like enhance.

Durable sounded like a fix for accumulating huge stacks after a round of bad luck.  And would let you try to enhance without hurting the durability of your gear so much. Sounds great for Boss equipment imo.

100% sure.

Whether the durable option uses the old failstacking CHANCES or not, well, that I don't know. And after feebleones reply I suspect that's what he really wanted to know.

It's funny how even the system is causing confusion already for the wrong reasons.  The wording seems pretty clear:

 

  • Choosing [Enhance] will increase the success rate of the enhancement attempt, at the risk of additional durability loss should a failure occur.

  • Choosing [Durable] will decrease the success rate of the enhancement attempt, but minimize the amount of durability lost if the enhancement fails.

 

Enhance is for items you actually want to succeed at.  (You will pay extra cost in losing durability)

You Enhance a Duo Ogre

 

Durable is for items you want to fail to increase your failstacks.  Hence you lower your chance to succeed, and consume LESS durability)

 

This already ruins the failstacks charts as your altering the chance of success on both.
