I'm just about at my wits end with BDO, its practices, and priorities

Current priorities

  1. Cash shop
  2. Cash shop
  3. Did i mention cash shop
  4. ETC (random detachable UI,  Text fixes, Maybe a bug(is it a cash shop item?), Class balance (kek))
  5. Server Stability

What priorities should be

  1. Server Stability
  2. Class Balance
  3. Bug Fixes
  4. Content
  5. Cash Shop

do you see the problem there? As a person who has spent hundreds of dollars on BDO I'm really trying to figure out where my money is going because its sure not back into the game. I have read pages on pages of forum post about server instability, how you cant go on odd number channels because of reverse proxy, or tin foil about opening your map to fix fps issues. I have not seen one response from Kakao/Pearl Abyss, it's as if they are blind (Or Don't care - I'm leaning towards this). Yet you move the heavens and earth to fix Amenos horse gear and other things that really don't matter in the long run. No disrespect to the people who paid for that horse gear but the servers are way more important than a damn horse set. I think u'll will live without your flower power horse.

this is just poor business practice.  There is an utter disregard for player base(repeat offender - poor transparency), pure greed(Cash Shop), and a lack of urgency. I would very much like for the community to band together and hit y'all where it hurts i.e. the pocket book. which entails a strike on buying all cash shop items until we get word on fixes in a reasonable amount of time. and No I don't want any other compensation band aids like GM blessing or Black stone box(GM box) or any other hold this pacifier event. I want real changes and I think everyone deserve to play a game that if nothing else is stable enough to play.  software is a whole other topic. *cough* Desync / Netcode.

and before any says anything about cash shop. No i am not opposed to it, as I know it's how the game thrives and continue to provide content and "servers"(potatoes). what i am against is every week getting useless up dates like this. When we cant even play stable enough to do anything but stand still and afk activities in a town.(cross you fingers training horses)

Long story short you need to check in with the player base and give us some real time frame on fixes if there are any in the works. There needs to be a immediate redirection of resources and no more filler updates that don't matter (see above). because if you don't there will be a mass exodus of players the first sign of anything new worth playing and me and some of my friends are already getting frustrated enough that the progression we have gotten thus far don't even matter anymore as we are just tired of the head ache. so unless you want to be the next Blessed RU ( >_>), then do something other than

I am going to afk for at most one month. If they don't fix, then quit.

RIGHT: The community posted the correct information about the sever stability.  I was lagging so bad it was unplayable and since changing channels I have not experienced it anymore.  This wasn't after the first channel change though, it took a few tries to find one that really works.

This is information that SHOULD have come from Kakao.  It should have been properly investigated and been in the announcements.  Instead all we received was GM's claiming to be reading these messages and supposedly reporting it back to the company without and further steps or communication with their customers.

WRONG: You should be ashamed to say they are only focusing on the cash shop.

I agree with the whole not spending money thing. I mean, it comes naturally. If I'm not satisfied with the product I'm getting, I won't spend more on it. I was planning on buying some pearls at the beginning of April but I held off on it because I didn't think it was worth it due to connectivity issues. Once it's fixed and stable then I'll gladly hand over my cash again.

But on another point, these forums are a toxic cesspool of raging dbags, sarcastic memes, and White knight whales that insult everybody within sight. As a GM, I wouldn't visit these forums often. It's probably more productive to send in support tickets (with a proper, noncancerous title) as those reach GMs directly.

A lot of the odd-numbered channels in NA have issues. Like serendia 3 5. Idk about EU.

But in these channels, its impossible for alot of people to play. I usually disconnect within 15 minutes when Afk or I have alot of delay in NPCs, potions, mobs, etc.

mate you do understand that kakao only gets these patches from Pearl abyss. Pearl abyss are calling the shots here the producer only translates and gives us 90% of most patches they are done with. Yes kakao should be working on server stability but this game gets more players everyday and loses players everyday.

in the end its a business its about making money. once they lose enough people they will see their mistakes. Until then more people will buy from shop thus they will continue to keep adding more things to shop to make those customers happy over you.

I get where you're coming from but think of it like this. If you have a hole in your boat do you plug the hole or try and bail out the water. if you decide to just keep bailing out water you will eventually sink, no matter how fast you are. right now they are bailing out the water and the boat slowing sinking. why not plug the hole and stop players from leaving in the first place then add new money making things later. simple priorities right?

most  likely server routing or poor load balancing.

totally get that, i'm just trying to hold them accountable. Its easy for them to just send a single person a hey we are working on it message without thinking. they may or may not be actually be working on anything but when you get the whole community involved its hard for them to deny anything. its sad that the consumers are not capable of working together to get to a common goal (a working product).

at least we can agree on a few things. but how can you say i'm wrong when we've been dealing with almost impossible connections these past few weeks but no word or fix. but as soon as the Amenos horse gear stop working we get an emergency maintenance. granted i know that it probably involved more then just the horse gear but say something dont just give use

We will perform our maintenance as follows:

Reason:

  • Hotfix for Amenos Horse Gear Set issue.

Think of it like potholes, you think to yourself hey i pay my taxes, why the hell aren't these potholes getting fixed, they'll eventually get to it

how long do you wait for those potholes to be fixed though? we've waited a year while they keep collecting taxes.

don't quite understand why people on this forum keep providing excuses to kakao. Wrong is wrong, and kakao will eventually see their huge mistakes when they lose most of their players. But, we don't want to quit a game we have played for one year.

What's the point for providing excuses? To let them know you are OK, you don't need to fix the servers?

they need to fix the proxey channels. they provide much better ping for a lot of people. it's not -----ing hard FFS. fewer and fewer players are playing on them, becuese of the 1 minute plus Desynces that happen all the time. they need to be fixed ASAP. game is unplayable at the moment.

Forever, but i just learn to avoid the ones i go by often, then just hope they'll eventually do it, the pearl quota hasn't been met, everyone needs to spend more money
