Ranger VS DK

Im curious what you guys find the 1v1 matchup favorability to be?

Ive gone against a large amount of various DKs by now. Some of them are geared better than me, some of them are just plain better than me at the game. But even the ones that are a good 30 GS lower than me and/or a level below, or not quite optimal with their moveset are able to beat me more often than I would like. It seems to me that ranger just might have a bad MU against them, or maybe I just don't know how to play the MU yet.

Any get good tips or ideas you guys have for beating them? I mainly struggle against their I-frames, and if I miss a grab I generally lose. Upon landing a grab successfully I can win, its getting to the point where they are KD that I struggle with. DK ranged KD> Ranger ranged KD imo, and the large amount of I-frames make it difficult to grab them.

Thoughts?

1v1 matchup favorability usually goes against the ranger (in general not only agaist dk)

not even jocking.

In my very limited experience I find that playing passively works a little better. DK's have a more reliable ranged kd where we have more consistent range dmg. Where they have iframes/frontal block to counter the attacker, we have super armors/frontal blocks. I personally think whichever class is forced into rushing 1st will more likely lose. I try to stay at a range and force them to be the rusher and then counter with super armors until I can set up a cc and follow up with a grab. If they start kiting, try not to get baited into rushing. Just bring bow back out, and start the range game again. Like I said, this is just in my limited experience and it's something that works for me. Then again, this kind of a fight plays closer to my personally playstyle so it might just be me but feel free to test it out until you can find something that works better.

I played against DKs too, over geared as well as under geared, but both still manages to kill me in the long term if you can't catch them. I noticed that playing as I do makes it hard for me to cc them since we both are facing each other with blocks. Instead I tried to play ranger in a more linear form or rather "aggressive" form.

By linear I mean, for instance, Call from Sky then EES straight so you go behind DK then subsequently with a dash to Breezy Blade.

Since DK has a lot of front blocks, then staying in front of it would never allow you to deal damage or cc at any point. The only way is to wait for DK to attack with a front block, while you as a ranger being faster to attack from behind.

The strategy I would use is to slow down, playing defensively with block and superarmors when DK faces towards you, and then when DK dashes towards you, you speed up and do the same, since you might be faster due to DK animations. Basically, play ranged when DK play ranged, play close combat when DK plays close combat.
