Nighttime Darkness to Dark

Though I appreciate that you revamped the darkness at night after CB1.  I think you might have gone a bit over kill.  A happy middle ground between the old darkness and the current would be nice.  A person should be able to make out the landscape when moving by moonlight, both in game and in real world.  But as it is, I cannot see a thing unless I'm in a pitch black room when night is happening in the game. Thus I'm left to tweak with gamma and brightness which completely takes away from the spirit of the game.

In other words visabilty shouldn't be 10 feet at night, especially with a full moon out.  Honestly I know this is a long way away, if ever.  But darkness based off of the state of the moon would be fantastic.  Add a lunar cycle.  When the moon is full.  The games night time is as bright as the orginal CB1.  When there is no moon in the sky at all.  The darkness is equivalent to the current CB2.  Anything in between would be a strait up percentage based off of how full the moon is.

I really enjoyed how dark the nights were. The nights actually seemed like nights unlike other games where nights just look like cloudy days. It made the decision to use my lantern important.

Nights should stay this dark if not darker. Its night time after all....

You can use a lantern and the night cycles are actually pretty short.

I really liked the nights. It looked like they had made lanterns brighter with a wider radius - if theyd tone down the orange color on them, imho itd be perfect.

I could honestly see just fine at night, but it may have been my particular graphics settings as I spent a lot of time adjusting gamma and contrast sliders, and choosing different screen effects until I found a happy medium.

Here was nighttime at it's darkest for me after I made adjustments:

And daytime with the same settings to show colors weren't washed out:

Sadly since I can't get into the game, I can't see what my settings were! But if you like how those look I'll try and remember to send you a message when the game launches.

I could see just fine in moonlight as long as there wasn't fog around. In fact I do not use the lantern...

In fact, nighttime is awesome, but the morning light comes on too early, I mean

it's getting dark around 10pm, I noticed the morninglight starts too soon like at 0200-0300 am it's getting bright again.

It should stay dark from 10pm until 5am (exception of moonlight)

morninglight should be from 5am until 6am

and from 6am the actual sunrise

what you guys think about it ?

I like the dark nights, the only problem I have is that the lanterns are actually a little too bright/too yellow/orange. They end up making things too bright and it ends up washed out when they're on with the default settings.

The dark nights created an interesting atmosphere.

Since lanterns were useless in RU (nights were bright) I threw my first lantern away. Where can you get replacements that aren't from quests? I don't think this version sells them with mileage, though I wouldn't want to constantly spend 100 mileage on a new one every 3 days.

I think i remember seeing lanterns at a general merchant for 5k silver.. not 100% tho! :)

Do NOT touch the darkness of our night! Its perfect! If its too dark, use your lanterns!! They shine like crazy now :P just my opinion..

My 1st character spawned late evening and I got all the "Kill beatles -> Kill imps" quests done during night. xD I didn't figure out you have a lantern in your inventory so I did them in darkness, but I could find the enemies I had to kill rather easily (even if I couldn't see their shapes too well, like foxes and wolves, navigation would show me where they are and I'd see their name if I'd look at a moving creature in my area) and because of navigation I always knew where to head. Again, I was a total noobie, 1st time ever touching this game, just learned how to sprint and use potions and I didn't have any problems.

If it's too dark for you just adjust it in settings or turn your lantern on, lanterns are in the game for a reason. Doesn't seem like anyone else has a problem with it...

Dark nights are the best nights! Games like Fallout and Skyrim I would only mod them darker until you HAD TO  have a torch with you to see where the heck you were going. I like immersion! I don't think the nights need to be brighter. To use Fallout again, Fallout 4 had really bright nights, you could see across the map and there were never any use for your pipboy light. That was very dull. The darker the better!

Yeah nights should be a lot darker by default. Right now you honestly dont need a latern. Really don't understand what kind of settings OP used to not see stuff...

The nights were great, in fact I would actually have liked it a lot darker and the night time cycle was way too short.

I understand the love for dark nights.  Every time a new Elder Scrolls is released, one of the first mods is to make the nights darker.  All I ask is if it's implemented, please make it an optional setting so we don't have another thread full of people asking to change it back.

Noooooo changes to the nighttime in this game. One thing I LOVE about this game is how night is ACTUALLY dark and not just purple shaded daytime. Go get a lantern if you can't see.

Yea I'm fine with how it is. I don't use a lanturn and I even turn others lanturlanturns

BUT they should adjust the way the sky looks when it rains.  Never any clouds. Just a blank gray screen.
