End-game, what is end-game.

End-game really differs per individual, it is what keeps you entertained after you've dinged max level.
Most commonly known or frequently asked for is dungeons and raids, Now, personally I never got this, you play the raids or dungeons with a party to get items, What do you use those items for? to do more dungeons with? Only for it to be obsolete the next content patch. It's a very confusing matter to be honest, the glee and jubilation of getting an item, maybe?
See with MMo's when you've achieved max gear there's nothing to do and the game just stops, Black desert is now working towards the "you can actually do something with that gear be it "escorting traders, be a bounty hunter, or be the most feared bandit in the land"
Something i found that continues the secret caves in the green area would be ancient temples with actual secrets that reward exploration, hell you can even make some ancient language that people can decipher and find treasures with that, Have maps for more treasure or underground temples in the desert for example.
I think this trend is becoming rather dank with every MMO that comes out, it seems every MMO has to be WoW these days. Most of the stuff that I'm reading is that people flat out refuse the fact an mmo cannot carve out it's own identity, Much that League of Legends players go to new Arena like games and say if it's not like League it won't survive.
Which is curious because there would be no point, if you do that and become the game people already play and want you to be,Then you'll always be at a disadvantage because you're not the game they already have, also for some arbitrary reason people always think that every MMO is competing with WoW to some how "win" their player base, sounds incredibly smug making that assessment. But I digress.

Some people find sollice in training horses and selling them or making a production line out of a town with houses and workshops, even with this new update that basically offers the cops and robbers aspect to people which I think is actually great late-game, There is still part of me that thinks there should more gain to be had to being a thief, so far it looks like "commit a genocide and I'll give you a quest" I think there should be more of a robbers aspect, stealing and wreaking havoc, actually making you a threat, which is what really enforces the "i'm going to hunt this guy down and give him what for" For one I cannot wait for sea battles, Trading spices and raiding the ships or having just massive battles. I hope the sea combat will be done like Assassins Creed Black Flag did it

Also what it think would be good late-game, would be A king or major system, some one to actually rule the cities. For see late-game is easily done, all you need is a goal that only 1% can get but working towards that goal is what really keeps it going, setting a goal (even if it's a near impossible goal) for yourself is what creates that drive to keep playing, become the most known pirate guild in the game, control all of the game, or rule like a dictator.
All a good mmo has to do is hand people systems like the "cops and robbers, sea battles, and  territory control" And scenarios will follow that'll be remembered and be unique.
This is how EvE online still rolls all the game does is give people the opportunity to be a trader, to be that pirate faction.
Queuing for the same dungeon or raid every Wednesday to do exactly the same content week after week might be some one's cup of tea,But i feel that would be a waste of resources looking at the stuff they're capable off now. I hope the Devs will keep to their guts, and let this MMOs stand out and have it's own identity as an Open world fantasy game.

Now. World bosses, This needs to be addressed. I'm going to wrap this up fairly quickly.
Less staggering, less glowing, bigger aoe moves that  people need to dodge from, and bigger, monsters. yes as big as colossal the one you see roaming in the desert. Let's fight that, just something immense, that stomps and annihilates people in a single swing, because no matter how good your Armour is if that thing hit's you it's like being pimp slapped with an 8 story building.
So these are just my thoughts on late-game, and maybe some feedback to put more emphasis in existing systems.

I dont think that system would work because the current system is that guilds rule the cities. If that system came into play I think it would play out exactly like Age of Wushu. Where players could be in charge of schools, but those are the 1%, and that system kept being abused. Just had friends constantly swap positions, or was rigged to keep the guy in power. I agree with everything else despite me not playing bdo ever yet.

In the end I essentially play games to whoop ass in PvP.

Just going to quote myself here.

I also personally hate the concept of "end game" and feel it should just go away. I don't want to go into a rant, but I thought MMOs were quite fun when they were more about the journey instead of what happens at the "end".

Same here.. Isn't the whole concept of "endgame" relatively new. I don't even remember hearing that term playing older MMOs. WE would just grind and grind and then pvp and pvp and had a blast. To be honest I don't understand people who need a defined "this is endgame, this is what you do". Guild politics and drama and actual game-play is enough for me :P
