"Hide parked mounts" feature, please.

Just as we can hide other people's effects, lanterns and pets, I feel it would greatly improve the atmosphere and visibility, and probably performance on lower-end systems, if we could hide all parked mounts that aren't ours.

We're only in Conqueror's access, and already the towns are crowded with parked mounts everywhere, dozens of monkeys and horses stacked on top of each other in the middle of the road, on staircases, etc. Not even to mention the usual trolls who park their mounts and carts on top of npcs.

I humbly suggest an optional toggle, like the one for pets, as a solution! Thank you for reading :)

To avoid trolling, a toggle key to hide such stuff would be also a possible solution or being unable to park mounts within 1~3m range of a static NPC (if 1m is not enough, maybe 3m to interactable, static NPCs only).

I think they want to make more "dynamic" content by you seeing actual traffic.

Another question would be: Do we see parked mounts from logged out characters? If yes, a solution could be, that only mounts parked during a login session are visible. You could also add a grace period of 15min for a login session to end after logout, if you feel like "todays used mounts should stay visible, even when relogging after a crash or IP change". So all mounts from characters that have been offline for more than grace period minutes would become invisible until the character interacts with that mount again. To indicate an "invisible parked mount" for the owning character, the mount could have a level of transparency or a suffix in the title in the like of "parked" -> "inactive parked".

I just want to hide the "Parked" icon above the mount. It looks ridiculous... I don't see any reason for it to say that. It's quite obvious that no one is on the mount.

A toggle we can key-bind would be ideal. Alternatively, just an option in the menu to make them invisible would be fantastic!

Sounds like a good idea. I'm not ingame yet, but I imagine it being rather annoying to see mounts everywhere and on top of NPC's without an option to render them invisible to you, especially in safe zones, where I assume you could not eh.. 'manually remove it' (I meant kill it, but that just sounds harsh. Poor horsies).

This sounds like a much more reasonable addition, or rather- subtraction. Although it could be to distinguish from wild horses just standing around somewhere? I'm not really sure, I've not seen any yet.

Even if that's the case and the idea behind it, they could easily make it more appropriate for the game and not a blinking sign like something out of Star Wars! :P It looks ridiculous against the gorgeousness of this game.

Easy enough solved by making the toggle only apply to safe zones, that's where the mounts are clustered together anyway. In the 'open' world it matters less, both for distinguishing from untamed animals, and because people won't tend to bunch up on one spot anyway.

The toggle is already there for lanterns and pets, so it'd be little effort to make the same mechanic apply to mounts, for people who want it, or need it for performance reasons.

I personally don't find anything realistic or immersive about 20 donkeys and horses crowded together in the middle of a road, or on some stairs.

Of course. I was just wondering what their initial influence for the decision was. I mean I'd also hate to walk around in a game like GTA and see "Parked" over every car unmanned on the side of the road.

Sure, supported.

Personally, I like seeing the mounts around, and I love that my horse doesn't just "poof" (though that's kind of irrelevant for the topic, since this is about the horses of others). But I fully support choices for those who don't like it, so a toggle would be nice.

Yes! Please add this feature. I'm a roleplayer and I support all attempts to increase immersion and realism, but seeing 15 donkeys parked right on top of an NPC is just silly and an eyesore. Please give the option to hide them from sight.

No, I like bumping into  hundreds of donkeys parked IN THE MIDDLE OF Heidels Pass. So its a big no.

Good idea. There's often a lot of unnecessary clutter, and it should definitely be a toggle for those who want to immerse themselves or not.

I would love it so much if they added this option.

I think the only reason this hasn't been implemented yet is because mounts are able to get attacked and killed by mobs and other players.
But if this could at least be an option for safe zones, I would be extremely happy.

Wild horses move around, and only sit still for a moment. And if you get close they scatter.

Also parked horses are tethered to a wooden post in the ground.

It is very easy to tell a wild horse from an unmounted player horse.

After seeing the dumb ways folks have parked wagons in veila recently(serious who parks a horse and wagon so its directly blocking the street?) i'm in full agreement that this needs adding, or even some sort of penalty to make folks who aren't using mounts or wagons store them in the stable...they need to realise the stable is there for a reason and start using it and if they get damage to the wagon or the horse dies or runs away if left abandoned for too long then so be it...some folks just do it to be annoying to others so it's time they grew up.

Tldr: either add a toggle to hide others parked wagons/mounts or add in some kind of timer that punishes folks who dont store mounts/wagons in stables when not in used in towns and cities.

I really hope to see an option to hide parked horses in safe zones in the future. If they kept horse visibility on for the sake of making towns look busy at least limit the visibility to friends, guildmates, and party member's horses.

This is win ^

I personally don't have a problem with all the horses everywhere, but they are getting to ridiculous numbers in Velia.

At the very least, this. If not, a toggle option for a limit of how many you can see in a certain range.

I believe your mount logs off with you.

I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not, but either way, it's sassy and I like it.

I would also like to see some kind of toggle on/off or even see the horses get booted back to the stables for players that are afk. It's getting too crowed with horses and wagons blocking everything! Out in the world it's not a problem, but in towns it's just getting ridiculous! I know the developers are looking for realism and dynamic, but there is something such as too much of a good thing.
