As the title says, would you accept the amount of miscommunication, delays and total lack of planning Daum has shown if this was any other genre? 
Personally I wouldn't, but then again I actually expect companies to deliver the product they have sold. 

I can tell you I put in a refund during the whole 'Explorer Pack' controversy and I'm still waiting for them to get back to me. I will play the game, don't get me wrong. But I'm not interested in paying 50$ for it. If this happened to any other game, which you could actually get from a retailer I can guarantee a lot of people would be heading back to said retailer at this point.

Lol, could you link me to where it says you will be 'locked' for putting in a refund? Sounds to me you are pulling these facts out of said asshat.

no it wouldn't be acceptable, but for some reason dumb mmo community has made it acceptable so now companies think they can get away with this shit, because its the norm its only the norm because of you idiots.

The title alone is one of the dumbest things I've ever read. New to mmos? Launches are generally complicated. This isn't any other genre where you download the game and you're set. And for how complex this game is I'm actually happy with how it's gone so far. Overall it really hasn't been an awful launch. The issues that have popped up are being fixed. People are just being insane.

It is indeed a tragic turn of events, the delays and the issues that have appeared, there is not much one can do, i do want a complimentary weed joint to ease my mental pain and trauma that these delays have caused me, being in Holland and all....i think it would alright, and acceptable as a compensation.

Demonstrates a fundamental misunderstanding of the differences in complexity of infrastructure between an MMO and other types of games. There was only one instance of miscommunication, and it's debatable at best - the info was widely available and known, some people just assumed they were getting more than was listed because one prominent spot that could have used a clarification was missed. If it was intentional they wouldn't be processing refunds.

The rest is down to the usual issues with these kinds of games. If you think you could do better, make one yourself. If you think someone else does it better, go play that game. It's not rocket surgery.

I expect to get my 50$ back for a pack that in my eyes were falsly advertised and will then go on to buy the 30$ pack and play the game, problem?

I'll have you know that I like my asshat. Thank you very much. Also, it's in the TOS that have been posted all over this forum to combat the general bullshit that is constantly getting spewed by entitled shitbaskets like you. Any chargeback or refund or anything constitutes default on your account and your account will be locked. I'm not sure why you think a refund would allow you to still play?

You know what you're right. I'm sorry Wizdom. I got so overwhelmed by the salt. My pH was totally unbalanced which threw me into a fit of rage and I just lost myself. I'll do better.

what part was falsely advertised? The data you downloaded? the in-game items you have/will receive? The game you installed? or the 24/7 server uptime promised? Oh wait.... they DIDN'T promise that last one..... Silly me! I must have just assumed that last one #lol

I do wish they were a bit clearer on the explorer naming issue but they’ve already apologized and have adjusted the information; it’s not an excuse for the miscommunication, but at least they are taking responsibility as far as I can see and are making noticeable changes. I can definitely see how that has caused confusion for some people.

 

That said, I find the delays acceptable because they are not just implementing a game for a large player base as opposed to a single player experience but they have added their own features and have put their own spin on it from what I’ve read and there are unique issues to every MMO launch and some common ones. They identified these issues based on CB1/CB2 and also those like myself who experienced headstart have weighed in and pointed other issues out and they are actively working on resolving them so that when a lot of new people join us in playing the game it is a smoother transition. I think it’s worth the delay, because from what I’ve experienced, the game is fantastic and very enjoyable.

 

I hope people can endure the frustration at the start so that they can begin to appreciate the game for how fun it is. I also hope Daum learns from every experience and that it makes them a stronger company so that they can continue to make this a stronger game. t’ll just take time for the upset to die down, hang in there.
