just got same error. i turned off Antivirus(Adanvced SystemCare Ultimare if anyone is running that) and all other 3rd party software running in back ground. and i just got in.:ph34r:

spoke to soon. disconnected me again after logggin in. Redownloading client rn.

This was posted by someone else in another thread but I think you all should know this here.

 

 

The DataCenter that the US BDO servers are hosted in are listed to have a scheduled network updates tonight. You can review this yourself at http://status.cogentco.com/  they are the California DC as the TraceRoutes dead end at an IP for Cogentco Communications in Los Angeles. Their post says it will be intermittent between 3am and 7am EST.

Hey BDO... might want to notify your customers when your servers are going to be rolled for updates!

getting this aswell. if i manage to actually even get ingame i dc upon char change/channel change, so basically bdo is unplayable for me now.

I'm having the same issue since last night.. played for three months with no problems .. i even reinstalled the game but it didn't fixed anything :-?

exact same as u Rusu, played for so long w/o issue, and i also reinstalled last night. My issues started last night also. Do you live in ireland or western europe area?

For me it started to work again.. hope it will last.

Try uninstalling all your apps that might use the game's ports .. i had something called Vulkan .. unistalled it and managed to enter the game.. hope that was the issue ^^

 

Seems like upon switching characters i get disconnected.. so the issue is still there :-/

I was able to play fine but every day it gets worse and its to the point where its unbearable, I spend about an hour trying and re-trying to connect before finally logging in only to be kicked in less than 5 minutes. 

I really want to play this game but if they won't fix this problem is there a way I could get my 60$ back? This is insanely upsetting, no matter what computer I log onto I have this problem, I haven't even owned this game for a week now.

Been playing since beta... Just experienced this for the first time... I get to the Start Screen and it throws up a "Failed to Connect" after 10-20 seconds...

I have had this problem with a lot of my games where I cannot connect to server.

The way i fix this problem TEMPORARILY is like this:

1. Hold windows key and press R.

2. Type cmd in the window that pops up then press OK/enter.

3. type ipconfig/flushdns then press enter this message should pop up [Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.]

There is a 1-5 min window to log in choose server and character if not chosen within this window you will have to repeat steps 1-3 again. Another thing is that if wanting to change characters you will have to log out and repeat steps 1-3 then log back in with the character you wanted to change to.

i stopped playing this game because i couldn't be bothered with repeating this over and over again.
i hope i helped someone T^T.

Oh wow... I saw this game on a Youtube video saying how awesome it was (around 7 months ago). Downloaded game, started up free trial, and haven't been able to play due to this problem. Glad I didn't purchase the game. March 3 2016 and this is still an issue?! Will be letting my buddies know that they need to find a different MMO. RIP BDO?

if anyone has scrolled to this topic and found no help ive posted a new topic about this today ive still got it after i left it for a year (for this reason) i was hoping it to be fixed in updates and come back to a fresh game but lol no

Too late, I've already stopped playing. I do not compromise my standards on connectivity. Many other things I am willing to let slide but inconsistent connection, and punishment to the player for things outside of their control, are terminal faults for a game. I will never compromise these standards, even if not enough people hold them as to make game companies shape up.

I can get to the Start screen, but as soon as i select a channel

 

I get the message

We had exact same issue, It is because anyone with Intel graphics for some reason either stops or cant be compatible with the game. We bought Nvidia GEForce card cost was not very expensive. As soon as we loaded the game after we switched graphics, it was working great!
