This would be nice. I used a reference of someone the same height I wanted my character to be, which was 5'1.

When i got in game I looked like a tiny child compared to all the default bodies running around. I also noticed my camera is always too high and when  I zoom in my character is below the frame.

It makes me curious just how tall the default characters are... or how short mine is xD

I know she is closer to the camera a little, but still this gives you an idea how huge the default Black Mages were compared to my character. whom I based the proportions off a real person!

+1 for this. I made some awesome medium sized human guardian in Guild Wars 2 only to see half of the population out sizes me cause there is NO height comparison at all (wtf).

I remember in Final Fantasy XIV the character editor does NOT scales to your size so you get an already great appreciation of your size, AND the sliders also tell you how tall you are! How sweet is that?

I absolutely want this.

It's a small thing. But it's a very annoying thing, not knowing how tall the character is. I'm one of those people that spends an hour in the editor. I don't enjoy deleting, then remaking the character, until I've got it right...

that is an issue when i do an male character but with a female character i don't have that need of they are too small or too big the main reason is maybe because i am using my original height while playing a male character but when playing a female i don't have any measurment to hold her height to

You want your character the same height I wish mine could be. ;.; Sadly I will main ranger and I get no such option! But luck on it! Sorc can get pretty tiny O.o

Yes I was fortunate Sorc can get this short. I just wish the camera height would adjust to your character, it focuses on where the default head would of been DX.

So much this.

I'm absolutely terrified the character I've been working so hard on is going to end up being dwarfed by other players and NPCs. :[

This is so true.

In other MMOs you have some kind of background so you can at least estimate the height of your character.

The default sorceress seemed like a giant to me so I made mine a lot smaller but I still have no idea how tall (or small) she is going to end up in the actual game.

Not bothered personally since I always make my characters more or less after me and I am *very* short, so it can never be too tiny for me.

But +1 for others, I think its needed.

+1! Although I tend to create shorter girl characters, I would like to have a closer idea of how will they look in-game. I'd hate to wait 24h just to correct the height of my beloved chars... As many people said, some silhouettes marking very short-average-very tall should do the trick, but marking the height in centimeters/inches would be perfect.

I totally agree with you.    I recall making a sorcerer with the default high and she ended up been a midget in comparison with others.    then I made a elf, and also went default high,  she was as tall as many giants.

Yes please! I have spend days recreating my characters over several times just to change their height.

silhouette of each class would be great, or a simple indicator how many inches or cm tall your character stands.

This would be great. Along with an option to adjust head size to fit height of character!

Tallest_Heights_Character_Comparisson.thShortest_Heights_Character_Comparisson.t

After some calculation and approximation, I've got some somewhat accurate heights of the different classes in relation to each other and common Npcs. *Note* Moving the height slider to the middle of the bar will put the character height somewhat inbetween their maxiumum and minimum height, for example, sliding the height bar to the centre for a Ninja (around the default position) will create a Ninja around 5'11 (180.33cm) falling inbetween the minimum height of 5'6 and maximum height of 6'4. The create a ninja around 5'8.5 you would need to move the bar 1/4 of the way towards the end.

Maximum height is the height of the character with the height slider to maximum as well as the neck length and feet size to maximum. Moving the height slider to maximum and giving your character the largest feet and longest neck possible will achieve the Maximum possible height for that Class, the converse is also true for the shortest height possible.

Warrior: 5'8 (172.4cm)-6'5 1/2 (196.85cm) [Default/Average height: 6'1 (185.4cm)]

Valkyrie: 5'3 (160.02cm)-5'11 (180.33cm)

Beserker: 6'7 1/2 (200.6cm)-7'2 (218.4cm) [Default/Average height: 6'11 (210.82cm)]

Ninja: 5'6 (167.64cm)-6'4 (193.04cm)

Kunoichi: 5'3 (160.02cm)-6'0 (182.88cm)

Ranger: 5'5 (165.09cm)-6'4 (193.04cm)

Sorceress: 5'4 (162.56cm)-6'1 (185.4cm)

Tamer: 4'11(149.86cm)-5'3 (160.02cm)

Musa: 5'6 (167.65cm)-6'1.5 (186.05)

Maehwa: 5'3.5(161.29cm)-6'0.5 (184.16cm)

Wizard: 5'3 (160.02cm)-6'0 (182.88cm)

Witch: 5'2 (157.84cm)-5'11 (180.33cm)

Giant Vigilante: 7'5 (226.06cm)

Non-Human Villager: 6'2 (187.96cm without horns)

Human Guard NPC: 6'0 (182.88cm)

Additional thoughts: The Ranger is somewhat tall due to not only being an Elf but also because some of the female classes such as the Ranger wear heels, on the otherside of things the Beserker is slightly slouched and may well be at least 2 inches taller were they able to stand up straight. Very close heights such as those of the Sorceress and Maehwa are virtually the same. Although there is no exact way to tell the exact character heights.
