Water causes player to dismount Horse...

Is anyone else annoyed by this stupid mechanic? I thought that I would be able to cross a river but instead my horse drowned to death because I was automatically dismounted and unable to move my horse out of the river when this could've easily ride across the river and on top of that my horse incurs a death count because of it. I feel that you shouldn't automatically dismount when crossing rivers or make it so that the horse has to travel into deeper water to dismount.

No one else thinks this is lame?

Swim to shore, and whistle your horse (left click on horse icon) and your horse will teleport safely to you.
I agree this is stupid system, but without it, people would be able to get from 1 place to another too quickly, bypassing all meanings for using roads because they would just walk across the rivers instead.
It keeps the game more natural imo

Natural?  Have you ever seen a horse drown in 3 feet of water? Horses are like born knowing how to swim.  like as someone coming from basically any other mmo, when you are going full sprint with a rank 7 mount(first play through) jump over the edge of a river and land like in the middle of the river only to have your mount instantly sink and die, that's like a little bit lame, like why cant they atleast wade in the water, or shallows, like I've had my mount only go knee deep before and the bastard kicked me off

Actually they are pretty bad at swimming.

It is a silly mechanic. Stop drowning your horse. Jump over the river!

Some horses are pretty good swimmers and enjoy it, but some totally panic and freak out in it. They aren't like elephants which will swim for hours happily, practically from birth, they need to be introduced to it carefully first. I do think that we are about to get soaring leaping  T9 horses though, so it is a bit strange we can't get horses which can wade across a stream. If they added it in as a skill they could learn it would be pretty neat and fit well in the game. I think they don't want to introduce other means of easy swimming because of things like the the cash shop outfits and such but who really knows. Would be cool but I don't see it getting implemented any time soon sadly. Alternatively, get a pegasus when they come out and you can jump over all the rivers with no issues.

That's dumb, all horses can swim.  Simple as that.
