Who else is creating tickets to refund their pets?

I was never going to play the RNG game with my pets, but i did want to use it once to get skills - little did i know merging pets CHANGES their base skill. I originally bought 5 pets, 1 hawk, 4 dogs, because the only thing i wanted was detecting elites, and detecting players. I had no interest in detecting gathering nodes.

After merging my dogs, they now detect gathering nodes....

Now, why is that even a possibility? To breed your pets out of their default special ability? Why is that even possible, to basically gimp your pet.

I bought dogs to detect players, especially since @CM_Jouska is on record saying it is the hard and fast counter to Ghillie suits, yet now i find out the hard way that i can and have bred my pets out of being able to do THEIR PRIMARY FUNCTION.

How is this supposed to be acceptable?
How is this not a poor business practice?

Really is just a good technique to lighten players wallets, that's reality of this system.

Daum thanks you for your business and hopes you'll consider dumping another $50 for another chance at getting your ghillie-suit counter.

Well the base dog counters ghillie suit, the idea was, ill go extra, merge dogs once, if i get combat exp fine, if i dont its whatever... i never once considered i would lose the ability to detect players - the primary function of the dogs, which makes no sense, since you need to merge dogs to get higher tier dogs, it is safe to assume that dogs will always be dogs - thus have the ability to detect players.

Just as I mentioned in the other thread, this pet breeding system is just one of those cash shop "RNG box" you see in F2P games.

"Oh you want that l33t item? Pay me 1$ for a 0.5% chance to obtain it. Oh you didn't get it? Ooh I'm so sorry, here's another box for 1$. Try again!"

That's just another part of the Daum Casino.

There should always be a reason to be unsatisfied with your pet leading in another shopping tour in the cash shop.

i dunno about you, but i'm not planning on sticking with a T1 pet, so i will try to breed mine to make a higher tier. please tell me the old pets are breedable at least.

Not gonna lie, changing the basic skill is kind of dumb.  I actually enjoyed having my cat be able to find gathering stuff for random small rocks and whatnot.  After my exchanges, I ended up with hostile detect on both of my cats.  HA!

You can breed them, the problem i have is the fact that you can breed a dog and it has a chance to no longer do what it was intended to do, which is detect players.

I thought it wasn't going to change base abilities, unless you cross breed your pets with other types (ex: cat + dog)

I guess that's what they were doing the whole time the breeding system was disabled, is breaking it, lol.

But you cant cross breed, you can only do dogs with dogs, cats with cats, hawks with hawks. So why would ANYONE assume 2 dogs would give you the passive of a cat? It makes no sense and seems largely deceptive.

Stop whining and buy another pet if you're disatisfied with the ones you currently have.

"Whoops, another pet with useless ability! Here's another 9$ in hopes that I get the one I want!"

"Oh dang, I failed again... Here's another 9$!!"

Sounds like you bred inbred dogs and they now suffer from birth defects.

Did you not read up on breeding before you decided to do it? It's not like the information about this ISN'T out there.

I think he understood that breeding results in pet bonuses, but do not understand why Daum decided to change the basic ability of a pet.

In the cash shop, each pet has its own different basic skills listed... it should stay that way, imo.

Buy more pets, guy. That's the way the system is designed. You won't get jack back from this place.

When it says skills in the patch notes, and then goes to run off about combat exp/life exp/ gathering exp etc etc etc. No its not OBVIOUS that skills also includes the innate abilities.

ESPECIALLY since the abilities for pets are called SPECIALS and the buffs are called skills. So dont give me that shit, as though simple research couldve avoided this, they have different names in game and its not made clear.

The disclaimers says the  "Skills" may change not the  "Special ability".

If this is indeed what is happening, then this is a farce and needs rectifying asap.

According to the patch notes, you should be able to keep one of your parent's skills.

When exchanging pets, the new pet can inherit one of its parent’s skills. You can choose to inherit or not.
