Entitled Hardcores - Entitled Casuals

Seeing that every patch inspires rage in the community one way or another I just wanted to gain some insight into why exactly people feel the way they do.

From my perspective making it easier for casuals to play the game will create both more competitive PvP for me and extend the longevity of the game itself, two things that personally are important when I choose to dedicate time to a game. I bounce back and forth between playing 20hrs a week and playing 50hrs a weeks so it's hard to pinpoint exactly whether I'm casual or hardcore.

That being said I think creating a catch up mechanic THIS EARLY in the game was an awful decision. First of all the gap between players right now is low, at lvl51 I've effortlessly fought and beaten multiple different lvl52s, lvl53s, and a couple lvl54s and in my own time haven't found it difficult to steadily catch up with people who are investing more time than myself.

I don't believe that just because someone spends so much more time in a game than you that they should automatically be able to beat you even if you're more skilled than the higher geared player, however the currently implemented catch up mechanic doesn't even address that. I feel it only created the illusion that casuals could catch up while also wasting the time of the players who HAVE grinded tirelessly to excel.

Last opinion I have on this catch up mechanic is that in the long run it will HURT the games community. LESS THAN one month into the game and a catch up is created?!? What happens when people are 61, 62 now? We just raise the cap to 60 in 3 weeks? Should I just farm black stones now and forever and just rely on these soft cap increases to keep my lvl competitive?? You can't just raise the soft cap EVERY month. Seems like a blind decision that a couple months down the road will only hurt the game.

Opinions alike or separate are appreciated as I said I'm just trying to figure where this patch is landing the game and what trajectory it's in as of now.

Actualy, the only reason why """"""""hardcore""""""" player could rage its because they are too afraid to have to actualy really need skill.

Since, more you farm, more you are powerfull, so more you win easyly. So they want to be sure to keep their advantage to win without skill.

Now, they will have to "only" deal with they skill. So yeah. ( even tho, imho its not that soon that tons of players will reach +15 on everything )

Also, i said that many time, in a pvp game, more you play, more you have experience, so you will still rekt "casual" that will ofc never master as well their class that a "hardcore" player will since he play a lot.

But yeah, as i suggested, create a "balance" for pvp is clearly more interesting than a grind to win pvp game ( that game is already a laughting stock on that point.. so.. yeha )

I wouldn't say the hardcore crowd is afraid, I would say that after putting in 500 hours, they feel deserving of an easy win over someone who has put in 5 hours.

But they will not acknowledge that because they want easy win. I agree on everything you said, it is the truth.

Im not HC, but how can someone who play lets say 4h / day have same skill as someone who is playing 16h / day and played months in korea before? like all time you are grinding you get also better skill, as there is many times pvp etc. by killing mobs you get muscle memory how to do your combos etc, atleast this is how I see it. 90% of the HC ppl are also more skilled then the "casuals"

that mean thoses guys have no idea of what is a real competitive pvp game.

More you play, more you earn experience ( so class mastering, & considering the gameplay of that game, its perfect for that ) so you will ALWAYS have "easy" win against "noob" ( meaning thoses not playing enough to know all tactic - gameplay tricks.. etc )

And personaly, since i chill more in pve than anything else, i will sure be totaly doomed vs a player that pvp a lot ( considering we are at same lvl - same gear )

But at least, i 100000000 time prefer be doomed because i dont master enough the game, than because a random dude grinded XXX more hours than me.

Eh, I don' think it is a catch up mechanic. Everything released is of benefit to hardcore players, new end game gear, new end game weapons. New end game farming spots. Then we have a translated daum's content release plan that says they plan on releasing two classes mid April which means those who want to main those will need to be able to power level their mains. I honestly can't see anything beneficial to casuals other then that they can continue to farm to 55, which they were already going to do.

This is just my take. I can't dedicate all my time to the game because I have a job and other commitments but I am in the 50's trying to get 55 so it isn't like I have a bias to either side. It just seems blatantly obvious that this new content which adds a lvl 50+ zone area is beneficial to.... 50+

I dont know if you played a lot of different games implying pve & pvp, but gameplay in pve is always VERY different from pvp gameplay.

So, spending 562464hours in pve, wont make you good in pvp.
