and you can also customize a lot your face when creating your character, making them unique too.

Yeah, because this game is in first person, and you are always looking at their faces. Lots of customization to go around, you guys just don't even know. Lots of hidden customization out there, just have to dig deeper, or smoke some weed.

Or take some LSD and try come up with ways to explain why this terrible design is a positive thing.

But i'm afraid no amount of LSD can help, because there is no way to conceptualize infinite stupidity.

Fixed stat + 1-5 bonus. As I read at KR

 

this can be a difference of 220 life at lvl 55 with same classes OR a 22 AP difference on some skills .. like Q from ranger

 

edit 22 AP is like a +15 dmg offhand ;)

  1. it's in third person, so yes, you see your face a lot
  2. why would you want to customize your character for only you to be able to see it in a mmo ?

There are lots of different appearances, what are you talking about. Whip that wallet out, you can buy 3-4 different costumes for as low as 29 dollars per!! 

3-4 different costumes?! So many choices, how will I decide?!

Seriously though, it's things like that making me shake my head at this whole wanting character's to be different thing. We're so limited in other areas and -this- is how they choose to add variation? Lol....

Just buy all of them for a small price of around 90 to 120 dollars. Oh wait, then you would have to waste money on dyes. I don't know what to tell you. I guess you can steal your mother's waste card (credit card) and start wasting money away. Then you character can actually be "different." Unlike these stats that other people can't see. How are you "unique," if you can't see anyone's stats. Mind... BLOWN.

no character should be identical accept we all look the same, or we all look the same as other people with the same costume as us, i thought the whole game was about looking and being the same

1. What are the hidden stats? Are we looking at some obvious ones like accuracy and evasion? Or are other stats like "damage against humans", "damage against every species", atk speed, crit rate, or heck... fishing ability included?

 

2. How does the calculation work? What's 1HP loss equal to in say.. accuracy?

 

3. Are the hidden stat allocations random too? Do I gain 5 accuracy this level then 10 accuracy the next level (assuming I gain 10HP on both levels)

fortunately RNG stats don't affect AFK fishing so you're in the safe zone :-)

There's no way anyone can find out when we don't even know what the hidden stats are. Refer to my post earlier.

Gamers/ Min-maxers love looking at numbers. Once it involves anything that can influence a battle outcome devs should be expected to be transparent about it.

pop-pop-pop, I stop you right there: Achievers type of gamer do that, not full social, nor full killer, nor full explorer care about numbers (actually, explorer would be the contrary, the less they know, the more fun they have in experimenting)

There is, take an armor set, see how it fare, then take another, see how that one fare, repeat until you find the armor set that fare the better, you'll be equipped to prevent those nasty hidden stats. Dueling against a lot of people in the arena makes you also able to learn where you should retreat.

Experimenting is the key, it may require a lot of grind, but you take one step at a time. (also I'm not even sure if Daum have access to PA black box of stats)
