BDO RNG is not Random

The game's algorithm is designed to reward you whenever you buy pearls.

After about 2-3 days, the "luck" drastically falls, to extremely low levels.

Once you buy more pearls, your "luck" improves; thus "training" you to associate buying pearls with good luck, progression, etc.

There are other things at work as well, such as a cap on drops/enchants during x time. These caps are designed to limit progression, so as to maximize your time spent in the game, doing stuff, like buying pearls.

Why do you think there are announcements when someone gets a world drop? It works the exact same way as the "jackpot" sign does over a bunch of slot machines.

Hello,

do you have any proof for that theory?

Hello,

do you have any proof for that theory?

Nope.

BDO is the epitome of opacity.

That said, I've played long enough, and experienced enough to tell you that, at the very least, BDO RNG is far from random. And I'm sure many would agree.

Opacity coupled with Daum's goals/reputation and it's not a particularly tough leap.

You have a game where all core aspects are governed by RNG / casino gambling algorithms.

You allow people to pay money to do stuff in your game.

I mean, come on. The first thing I'd do, if I wanted to maximize profits, would be to make sure that everyone always has something to do, and always wants more pearls.

Hey look red nose dropped a liverto.

Maybe I should go to red nose?

Oh wow I died like 50 times. Better buy a bunch of pearls so I can not lose precious exp.

I have no doubts that "rng" in this game ****ks hard, but if you´re right it would be scandalous muck around.

Nobody, outside of the developers, will ever know, of course. But it seems plausible to me, frankly, which is... slightly disconcerting.

Eh, dunno if I believe this, I buy pearls pretty regularly, and I wouldn't consider myself lucky at all.

Didn't you ever wonder why you have to physically open the box on one of your characters though?

Just saying.

Slots are not manipulated that way. It's against the law.

The slots reference was purely equating the flashing jackpot sign to the global announcement that someone got an ogre ring. I did not suggest that slots were legally rigged (anymore).

But:

"Romano then gave an example where a slot machine would line up two 7s on the payline and have the third 7 settle below the payline making people think they were close to winning. He said those kind of results were programmed into the machines on purpose. Ross said the casinos pay out up to 98% on these machines and that Romano claimed the industry came up with this idea as a way to get the dollar volume up by keeping the players at the machines for a longer period."  http://www.americancasinoguide.com/slot-machines/are-slot-machines-honest.html

This is false, purchasing pearls has no impact upon your luck.

Insinuated that would be true, there isn´t any proof rather falsify or verify that statement. Due the lack of communication why anyone should believe anything in the future. The HP/MP rng may has no major influence, but so many things are hidden to the players that opens big room for speculation.

In fact some players definitely have more "luck" better rng numbers than others thats undeniable true.

Good, so the system is like: IF you have less or no luck pls quit or don´t play the game, but how i can figure out before wasting my time rather having a lucky char / account or not?

You know, usually I don't like when people post tinfoil hat memes on a thread, but this was 100% appropriate and tasteful use.  10/10
