BDO RNG is not Random

This is false, purchasing pearls has no impact upon your luck.

With the new information regarding leveling having "random" HP values.

Would you be able to inform us if "rng / luck / drop change / enchanting chance" has any variance between characters / accounts?

You'd be able to kill some of the rumors that are popping up regarding the above being different between characters and / or accounts.
I would assume that everyones chances are exactly the same other then the Luck ranks (0-5) and node level. If there is anything else I and many others would love to know!

Good, so the system is like: IF you have less or no luck pls quit or don´t play the game, but how i can figure out before wasting my time rather having a lucky char / account or not?

No that's not how it works at all, you might just have to work harder than others. RNG stands for Random Number Generator which means some people are just luckier at rolling the die for good loot than others, same as gambling or buying a lottery ticket, you hope you'll win and get it but you have no way of knowing. If you decide to quit a game because you have bad luck well then you're missing out on one hell of an experience.

Edit: Also all these rumors about people having a "lucky character" or "lucky account" is 100% false. That is not how RNG works and it never will.

Community would massively appriciate if you could shed some light about drop chanses, how luck stat node level monster knowledge etc is calculated.

The game's algorithm is designed to reward you whenever you buy pearls.

After about 2-3 days, the "luck" drastically falls, to extremely low levels.

Once you buy more pearls, your "luck" improves; thus "training" you to associate buying pearls with good luck, progression, etc.

There are other things at work as well, such as a cap on drops/enchants during x time. These caps are designed to limit progression, so as to maximize your time spent in the game, doing stuff, like buying pearls.

Why do you think there are announcements when someone gets a world drop? It works the exact same way as the "jackpot" sign does over a bunch of slot machines.

Pls close this thread it's full of people who have never dealt with RNG before and it makes me sad to read these things.

OP is wrong.

BDO revolves around capacity and metrics.

During height times drops and success rates are lower because due to the static market, they don't want an overabundance.

When there are fewer players on, the drop chance for items is increased. This is to also sustain a low populated region or server due to the nature of the "grind."

Nope.

BDO is the epitome of opacity.

That said, I've played long enough, and experienced enough to tell you that, at the very least, BDO RNG is far from random. And I'm sure many would agree.

Opacity coupled with Daum's goals/reputation and it's not a particularly tough leap.

You have a game where all core aspects are governed by RNG / casino gambling algorithms.

You allow people to pay money to do stuff in your game.

I mean, come on. The first thing I'd do, if I wanted to maximize profits, would be to make sure that everyone always has something to do, and always wants more pearls.

Hey look red nose dropped a liverto.

Maybe I should go to red nose?

Oh wow I died like 50 times. Better buy a bunch of pearls so I can not lose precious exp.

Already false as I barely buy pearls and I have one of the best "RNG" around. People call me the embodiment of RNGesus.

As with the guy who got 3 ogre rings and got it to tri there are people out there who do not buy pearls and are at the top. Just open your eyes and maybe youll see your paranoia. In reality there is no such thing as RNG overall, its all just a number referring to a number in a seed. Programmers will know

Sorry if your RNG happened to make it seem like pearl buyers get more, but I have people who spend 100s on pearls and never get say... witches earring drops or mark of shadows or scarla or anything for that matter above stones

TL;DR: I cant get drops Daum mustve rigged it for pearl buyers.

Ok, may your´re right. But than the rng system (i know what rng means) here, is absolutely crap. I´ve seen a row of just rediculous stuff happen, like bossdrops where one player got 3 tree spirit belts ... However game it not comparable to real life lottery. If i want that i know my exact chances, here i know nothing.

I would love to see you prove otherwise, two wizards in my guild literally equal grind amounts mob for mob and one spent like $500 in cash shop and his luck in insane liverto first time he ever did a boss fight 7 marks of shadows in 4 hours now our other wizard has terrible rng barely gets 1 mark in 10 hours of farming and has spent $0 on cash shop lol doesnt seem to far fetched tbh.

See this is the problem. People can come up with crazy ideas, some of which might have solid reasoning, but still without any info you'll have people angry, upset, and spreading BS.

See if PA / Daum would be willing to help stop the spread of miss info @CM_Jouska if you get the chance. In the very least if you come back with a "they don't want this revealed" then you'll shut some if not most of us up from asking ^_^

That data sample is far to small to deduce anything other then BS and assumptions. This is the problem and why hopefully someday PA / Daum will give us enough to understand reasonably what has a impact / what doesn't.

Rng is Rng, someone will win 10 times in a row someone will never win their whole life.

rng is not so random in the game right now obviously , but it has nothing to do with buying pearls :>.

@irrelevant You're right the code certainly is buggy in some areas as you can see some things are rather random...

I.E. Going to giants to do a guild quest and getting literally 20 yellow quality crystals in 1k mobs.

I get like 50 trade items there too... these are green / grey mobs to me why are they dropping alot?

But then again I watched two people in my guild who didnt pay for pearls get 2 witches earrings within 30 mins of doing skeletons. There was one who spam buys pearls and he got 1 in a day or so. There are others who spend weeks and dont get one.

Its hard to prove or disprove RNG... cause its RNG! So just roll with the punches, someone is always going to be luckier than you are... the difference is they BELIEVE they will get this RNG drops and you EXPECT to not... so thats the outcome you focus on

1283582659392.gif

Based on that theory game must think I have spent thousand of dollars when its in fact less than $150, but shhhhhh. Don't tell the RNGESUS!!

just keep believing that youll get shit and you do! Preach on bruddah we RNG blessed will always have nice results

Shit he is right.

via googling i found hints that daum was created by illuminati which are controlled by lizard men who are secretly running the u.s.a and now try to spread (cyber) super aids via mmo forum shitposts.

Half life3 confirmed.

These people complaining are just jealous of other players that are either luckier than them or put in a lot more time. And they obviously can't understand what RNG is.

I've had several experiences to the opposite of your theory. Bought pearls yesterday, farmed for about 6 hours and had the lowest drop rates I've seen in a while. Only 1 Blackstone. On the other hand I got 3 MoS in a 45 minute span the other day, after farming monastery for a few hours and not buying pearls for over three weeks.

Im going to close this thread as its not in the least constructive.

There are some RNG elements and there are some fixed elements that determine who gets loot.

I will quote Jouska on this.

  On 4/7/2016, 8:51:29, CM_Jouska said:
  • Drop rates for field bosses, guild bosses, and Kzarka have been adjusted. Drop rate increased or decreased?
    • This is more complicated, items from the loot table were adjusted on a one by one basis and there are conditions that determine loot drops.

Also for the love of god, please refrain from using 4 bazillion sized font. It doesnt get your point across any better than normal font size.
