I know it is only a small sample and statistically it is irrelevant, but I am actually surprised the pure PvP players are the minority in a PvP game like BDO.

I enjoy killing carebears who hate PvP, and PvPers who think they are the best in the game. I think of myself as the equivalent to a career soldier who doesn't know anything outside of the military. If I'm not killing something, be it people or mobs, I don't know how to play.

Looks like pve is winning maybe daum might need to cater to pve players in the future, since more people enjoy pve.

Everyone in EU/NA needs to realize that Daum can't do anything but send a request to "PearlAbyss" for game changes. Daum is a figure head to the game or Publisher

Its intertwined, most of the pvpers have done PVE either through grinding or life skills to gear up and get alchemy stones to PVP competitively.

I hope career soldiers don't enjoy killing rl carebears.

yes, it is statsistically irrelevant, but if you think of it this way, if you are a pure PVP player, you would rather buy a game which lets you PVP on the get go rather than having you grind gear or silver for ages and then PVP.

BDO attracts players who enjoy both sides of the equation naturally. =)

I like the mix :o Grinding with a Guild Premade and competing for the spot vs other Groups all the time is fun :3

Usualy IRL soldiers are quite unlucky if they have to kill anyone during mandatory tours. Speaking from my countries experience anyways. Career soldiers will of course have to at one point, but the kill count isnt so high for an infantryman. most deaths occur due to artillary/arial bombing and such stuff. again speaking from my contry's [respective.

Exactly, so I don't get why Pearl Abyss doesn't implement more Group PvE content, since this game attracts clearly a huge PvE crowd.
I know in Korea this formula works, but in the Western market a MMO with poor PvE doesn't last long, and this game could shine even more if there was more Small Group PvE content (5-6 Man).

Ok, i voted for both, BUT i dont enjoy beeing stupidly ganked. This game brings out the darker parts of some people. But it is the game design, you don't have enough mobs to grind, dont enough mobs to farm a ring ... etc. So in a way the game forces that kind of behaviour on you - or it can. I mean i just got killed 3 times in a month (dont care much about that), once i was able to kill the person that attacked me and I admit, it was like a rush. Mostly because it was just funny. When you flag and attack, better win. Anyway - I don't like that part. The part that makes players act like rude rude asholes in kindergarden. It is just a game yes, but look at the world, why do the same BS in another scale in a game? How can anybody enjoy making somebody else feel misarable? That I just dont understand - or I just feel sorry for that poor person.

If I compare with GW2... there the game leads you to play together. Everybody gets loot, you are rewarded when doing things with other people. I loved that, since it reflects my pesonalty more. But anyway. I love the grafiks and all the stuff you can do in BDO. Like catching a horse, or feeling rich almoust from starting the game. Awesome combat and and and. I just wish, PVP would make a bit more sence and the game would provide a cool place whre you can do competitive pvp, get rewarded somehow and have fun with that. And just maybe add some PVE stuff that is not just grinding. Because, when your are 50+, got your armor to +15.. what else is there apart from making money, get bored to death with bossmobs and trying to find something smart to do pvp wise? And suddney killing AKF-Fishers sounds like fun - maybe?

Omg poll must be rigged.

How can anyone enjoy smashing AI deprived sandbags?

Or do you call fishing PVE too?

uhh... So people enjoy killing hundreds of thousands of the same thing over and over with no intention of using the progression obtained to go kill other players? LOL meh, to  each their own. But that's a new one for me.

I have no intention of ever getting involved with PvP. I came to the game for the PvE aspects such as trading, crafting, fishing etc. Why would I need to kill hundreds of thousands of things? I'll leave that sort of boring activitiy to the PvPers ... LOL. The only leveling I'm interested in is life skills so I avoid combat missions as much as possible. I was awarded the 500 hours played achievement last weekend and still my highest level character is only lvl 27.

Anything that isn't PvP is PvE and if you look around when you're playing you'll see virtually everyone is engaged in PvE activities most of the time. Even when I've seen guild war system messages I still see their members with blue names totally ignoring each other as they pass by in their wagons and horses and fishing together in areas where they could be fighting if they wanted to. In fact, I've been playing since release day, have over 500 hours played and I've never even seen any PvP yet despite having 20 workers at gathering nodes I've set up all over the map from Altinova in the East to Epheria Port in the West and Trent in the South.

neither is great to be honest, i feel people forget you doing shit ton of PvE content to do PvP, so this game is what PvP? or PvE? has identity crisis, seems to me there is fine issue with what this game about, personally i think they need to create more group PvE content with better PvE AI , i suggest raid scrolls that give you same reward as 25 relic scrolls but same length in time. or w/e  they decide, but i feel like that game needs to other decide am i PvP or PvE or both? if they doing both they can't lack luster on either, they need to do more PvE,  because all these soo called "hardcore pvpers" are all 90% doing is PvE content to get silver and items, a PvP mmo wouldn't do that, there be PvP gear that you buy through doing PvP as an example, <-- not saying this is ideal just an example of a PvP MMO.

That is just so narrow minded, just as narrow as if I would explain PvP by saying: So people enjoy sneaking up on an under geared, 5 lvls lower player, afk fishing and ganking him/her. Im not even going to try to even start explaining why I like PvE so much. If you are so lacking in the imagination department....I wont even try.

Because I lack time to keep up with level and gear (what matters in PvP) I solely PvE.

I love PvP, but I can't be bothered to try PvP in a game where skill matters less then level and gear. So I just maintain workers, quest, explore, fish, sail, hang around, decorate house and do whatever more this game has to offer (and that's a lot).

Pve crowd three times as many as the pvp group. Clearly, this game is pvp based.

Daum already did a lot to change the game and, imo, none for the better.

Oh and just for the record, I really enjoyed Tera PvP for years. When skill mattered. I actually quit the game because they took the mats for upgrading my gear out of the PvP shop and I had to PvE for them.

I voted both. The whole game is made for both and I like that. We already know they will have more reasons for PvP which is great and hopefully they add more PvE content as well (for smaller groups especially).
