Musa Leveling Problems and Questions

3 posts in this topic

It seems like I'm doing something wrong. I keep hearing that Gale, Cyclone, and Rising Storm are the win buttons in PvE, but when I use them on a pack of mobs, I get tore up because I'm stuck standing frozen in place while the spell finishes casting.

Could someone explain some detailed options on how/when to use these skills?

Also, the guides I've read seem to disregard Carver and Whirlwind cut in terms of priority, but I find myself using both a lot for some reason. Should I put points in these while leveling?

How about Blind Thrust and Blind Slash? These too I've somehow developed a habit of using a lot (probably because they're part of the in-game combo videos). Should I put points in these while leveling?

Note: I'm not trying to make my end-game build. I can respec later. I'm focussed on what's best for leveling right now, so I'm not looking for end-game wisdom where it doesn't apply well to PvE. On the other hand, I should probably be practicing/getting in the habit of using the skills I'll need later.

I'm just passing character level 30.

You should work towards your end game build as it will get you used to using the skills and combos you need to pvp.

Rising Storm has a knock down when it is not on cool down, if you are sitting in a pack of mobs and just using it while its on cd, you probably are getting wailed on.  Use this to knock down the mobs initially.

You can then use dragon bite for good damage along with another stun.

Cyclone slash can be put on your hot bar and used as another cc ability or can be combo'd with rising storm.

Blooming - this is another cc you can use to stun mobs.

You can also blind thrust into an instant gale.

Use your backward dash to avoid collision and go through mobs to get behind them and get these skills off.

When your skills are on cooldown you can use whirlwind cut to regen sp.

Rising Storm is quite quick to cast so you shouldn't have problems using it. If you are in trouble, use Q so you can ge the retalliation as soon a mob hits you (so you get some CC on them and buy extra time to cast Rising Storm)

Gale and Blooming have long ass casting time, so you must learn to instacast them, cancelling part of the animation. The basics are W+Space into LMB+RMB (Gale) or Shift+LMB+RMB (Blooming). You can switch the W+Space for Shift+W+LMB (Carver) if you use it as an opening.

Check Keg's video for this, it's very well explained:
