Alchemy is the best way. But then you've to deal with the mats that used to craft. I heard that it is the fruit of something that is the rare drop from farming?
Anyway good luck with that, ranger sucks without these.

Stonetail Wasteland node monster drop the Extraction gem. Otherwise use the farm and plant anything that can give you Fruit of Nature (Carrots, Barley, Potato or Sweet Potato)

I'm currently leveling a ranger alt and I'm curious how you rangers feel about sacrificing as/crit for the extraction gem? Currently the way I see it with a liverto you can use 1 extraction gem and still have 5as 4crit (carmae in weapon, 2x2as in gloves) and get the last crit from serendia special but I'm planning to get a blue krea weapon for world bosses and pve grind farming which will have 2 stats less, so I'll have to use 2x carmae in weapon or would it be better to sacrifice crit or attackspeed?

Not sure why would we bother with alchemy. Dropped 2 in 15-20 mins at the place Alterist mentioned. And i got no node connected, and shitty ranks.

you can get one fruit of nature every day from a quest in olvia at alchemy skilled 5 i think. so basically you can get at least one extraction gem every 4 days with this method, assuming your crafts only yield one essence every time. It's not fast, but if you keep at it you'll eventually start stockpiling some for persnal use

You CAN get all fruits from gathering aswell. I usually get 1-2 of each fruit from gathering cabbage at Northern Wheat Plantation. Although that is 200-250 energy spent per day.

The way I see it you should spend energy gathering anyway to get those Sharp / Hard Crystal Shards.

maybe because some of us can spend 20+ hours there and not see 1. I spent a good amount of time there last week with no results. I said screw It and leveled alchemy to Skilled 1.

Yea, I spent 3 hours there the other day before sucking it up and crafting my Extraction gems. At least I have quite a few backups now I suppose.

and at the worst, you've limited the amount of rng necessary to obtain one. I think it's a lot easier to get those fruits / essence things (even if they need to be purchased), than it is to get the crystal. The rest of the mats are all pretty easy.

Wow.. My guildmate also spent 15 mins to get one. Guess we were just lucky lol.

Maybe if you figure out which plants gives fruit of nature, you should grow these plants.

Carrots give Fruit of Nature.

Also, i bought about 15 of them in about 15 to 20 min of camping the AH.  Put an alert on them and you will see they show up reasonably consistently.

it was pretty easy to make 5 or 6 crystals.

I am not really convinced how good they are.   I used one in a +14 Liverto and I still used a lot of pots.

Its not an end solution to the power problems that rangers suffer from but for example a normal grind session you run though 200 mana pots over x amount of time.  with the gem you can get the same grinding done for 100 pots maybe less if your are frugal and not over using the big hitters.

I use 75% less mana pots with just 1 extraction gem. WoTW and Q cancel you rarely have to pot. Maybe you are fighting mobs higher level and without accuracy? Being a good ranger involves learning how to control mana consumption, using an extraction gem makes it 10x easier.

for me i call it the cost of doing business high carry LT and it basically eats 100k of a normal grind session.  Just chalk it up as overhead.

If you've done the introduction quest chain for alchemy that starts in Glish (easy way to level up alchemy up to skilled btw), you can get most of the mats just doing dailies in olvia.

For example, right next to the storage manager is an NPC with a quest rewarding you a full essence of nature for crafting oils. And right next to it is an NPC that rewards you the rare mats necessary for crafting said oil, in exchange for crafting blood.

And you get to keep whatever you craft.

Level up your alchemy anyway, Alchemy stones are a big plus.
