The ONLY problem this change brings is players can now just let themselves get killed over and over to drain Karma.

Two solutions:

1 - Remove the Karma penalty for killing (but keep the penalty for attacking).

2 - as suggested in a different thread: Keep EXP loss if you respawn in nearest Node.

No EXP loss if you respawn in nearest TOWN.

I think this would be a great balance. Force them far away and reduce karma loss too. While I get the reasons for grinding parties wanting to push random people out, griefing goes both ways. Seeing people avoid pvp combat because they're trying to level up isn't a good pvp system either. It's a shame more posts aren't with solid ideas like yours instead of the typical "dev's ruined the game finally" complaints.

You are salty because you are probably part of a no lifer guild and now your life has been taken away from you. Deal with it, now we'll have players with decent gear all over not only you dickheads with exclusive access to the good spots. We'll see how good you are now.

This will be super wierd. How are you suppose to "control" a area? There will be people everywhere stealing your precious exp and if you try to kill them they will just come back.. I'm a PvX player and everytime I went to grind for exp I always prepared for PvP because there will always be someone telling you that this or that is taken and you had to fight for it. What now? how are you supose to get rid of uninvited players taking your stuff?

No no no... you simply dont have exclusive access to the best farming spots anymore and you just want the gear gap to increase and skill to take no part in pvp. A game is not supposed to be filled with lifeless idiots. Now everyone will come and grind there as well, so deal with it lol

PS. This change is horrible. It mostly just appeals to the [Deleted] Steve types who decide to keep coming back over, and over, and over, and over, and over, when you're just trying to get a little bit of in-game progression done and they aren't good enough to actually PVP you out of a spot.

Now I am admitting here that i didn't read all 10 pages of this, but, here is my idea, bring back exp loss on death in PVP. However, make it so you don't lose EXP to PVP if flagged. Make flagging up cost you a certain amount of karma, say 3k, keep the other deduction the same for actually hitting someone non flagged. Add an increase in the karma penalty by say 50-100% for killing non flagged players.

Less work than creating new game mechanics, and should not be that hard to adjust the system.

Wait for sieges to do pvp or do battlefield. Leveling is not supposed to ruined by douchebags who think this is a job and not a game. I'm glad this was done and so is 90% of the player base. These "top guilds" are just mad and crying and trying to sound reasonable after ruining the game for months. I'm glad most of those people will quit making the game more enjoyable

Ok, so .. keep 0% exp PVP penalty in game.
 

Here's an idea:

Add in game item called "flag of declaration" for some silvers from merchants.
Item could be used only by party leader (when you got at least+3 peoples in party for example so you should not be able to ABUSE it solo),
it would have +-5minute cooldown on use for example, cast time 5sec for example (could not be interrupted) and would do something like this:

"In range 100m around flag players get *battle of honor* buff, players inside that area are ALWAYS flagged for PVP and get EXP loss penalty upon death via PVP combat, outside range of flag players cannot attack others with *battle of honor* buff, flag is destroyed when all members of "summoner" party  dies."

This way "top" guild/grouped players can go to their sweet EXP spot, place flag and grind there, this way they are forced to DEFEND their grind place in name of honor, so beware if you try to challenge them, they will need think twice if they are strong enough to take over or just move little further, also this would completely negate "trolls" alts without gear which just went there to pester other by KSing.
Also i think it would not endanger fishers or other AFK because mostly PKs which was killing players at these AFK fish spots was solo bored person on max red karma alts, so they would not be able to harm you without (full) party.

What do you think guys?

Dude please don't speak for others, who are these 90% you are talking about. Not make up numbers. I'm part of a "smallscale" guild (25 members) and we are fully able to hold our own and farm in peace. In other words we are not a top guild

Then there is no punishment for griefing peoples farm spots all day. Really..... Try and farm sausan main with your full party with 10 randoms killing all your packs of mobs. 

Oh wait sorry.... You don't grind, you just gather and RP in safezones. 

You are mad because you want the gear gap increased, thats all it is. Deal with it, people will come and farm there as well so they can lvl, gear up, make money and beat ur unskilled ass in balanced pvp. You can either cry and get mad or deal with it.

Well then this patch wont be affecting you at all, now will it. Why do you seem to be complaining about it then? If someone shows up you move on to another spot, isnt that how it's been played so far? People are forced to move on to another spot or get killed... now you will just have to do the exact same thing. Deal with it.

That has EVERYTHING to do with the xp lost... Players aren't afraid of you(LOL)... They're afraid of losing hours of work from simply dying a few times. If you've ever played Archeage I'm sure there were plenty of times you killed someone and they simply kept charging back at you after they spawned until they finally killed you or you decided to go on about your business. There's no reason to think twice about reengaging a fight when there is nothing to lose.

No if someone shows up we told them to leave and killed them if they didnt. We also killed for taking over a spot. We fought for it. If I kill someone now it won't affect them at all and that's bad
