Sorceress Fashion Desert Online

Complementary Sorceress subforum rant post that's actually NOT about balance issues for once. Hurray.

A bit perplexed by the fashion choices of Black Desert Online. Pants for females are apparently a rare thing in the world of Black Desert. The Kyrill set has some super tight pants yeah but it'd be nice to go around not looking like some type of thematic escort.

"Come one come all, lonely and with a pouch of silver far too heavy to take home, shed your weight and take your pick from our fine selection...." The wily man screeches, pointing you down the way towards the building with the flickering pink and red sign.

Would anyone else appreciate something that makes us look a little bit more fight-worthy?

Like how this

Could instead look like....

??? I have guildmembers in game telling me I look like a seductively provocative version of their tutor ffs. <I am wearing the White Lahr Arcian (Pirate) outfit ^Linked above.

Or... how about letting us fuse the appearance of one armor set to another armor set (yes, like Vindictus. And yes a lot of my values do come from Vindictus, in fact it's only because the pirate outfit looked so nice in Vindictus that I bought it over here when I switched games - because I wanted to keep my theme going)

Because some of the default sets for Sorceress actually look pretty good...

I want to wear Taritas on Sorceress but the set stats aren't very good compared to Agerian and Grunil >~<

And yeah, there are sets like the Eckett (probably the only one - okay maybe the Crow/Cavaro outfit too.... and the Bern) that doesn't immediately look like they're from the red light district but it'd be nice if there were more yeah?

ps: Additionally.... why do we have so many hairstyles showing the forehead and hair brushed to the side??
Also.... what in lord's name is this....

Disclaimer for the easily triggered: The following post contains opinion-based material. In no way, shape, or form, am I claiming any of these to be "facts", save for sections that describe particular aspects of the costumes.

I always thought of sorcs as the "awkward emo" class. Like that one girl you remember from high school. Hence why you see so many asymmetrical haircuts that cover most of the face (and surprise, surprise! most sorcs have black hair!)

I'm 100% with you, OP. I'd kill for some more outfits with (somewhat) proper pants. Currently clinging to my Kyrill outfit for dear life. Beats the hell out of the clown pants we got with the Conq headstart costume.

We've got some nice outfits, such as the Lahr, where the upper torso is really nice (because the amount of detail in some aspects of these costumes is absolutely stunning). Then they seemingly "give up" and slap on a pair of "bottoms" (in the form of miniskirts, crotch-zippers, or booty shorts). While they do complement these with very sheer tights (if and only if you have your underwear toggled off) it's still nowhere near the 100% coverage that some people would prefer. Nor is it particularly attractive in most cases.

Outfits that display said half-arsed attempt to cover a female's lower body include, but are not limited to:
- Lahr Arcien Set W
- Lahr Arcien Set R
- Karlstein Set
- Cavaro Set
- Bern Set
- Lumik Set

(Note that the Kibelius and Atanis sets are not listed, because these costumes have bottoms that were designed to match the upper section and weren't seemingly slapped on as an afterthought. While they're still not pants, they're hardly a slapped-on miniskirt.)

Also agree with the option to swap looks on certain gear. For example, the Luck set (Fortuna) looks really great on sorcs. However, trying to +15 a Luck set and attempt to use it for practicality is madness.

More customization and more options for costumes regarding look and coverage is always welcome.
However, those who seem to want to actually cover up their female characters seem to be the minority. And as said before...
Korea.

Rather they give Plums one of those slutty costumes and give sorc a battleworthy one. Even take an evening gown, something that covers more than 1/5 of body.

The Aker Guard costume makes us look pretty "fight-worthy," imho.

http://bdo-fashion.com/aker-guard/

That one is a little too flashy and knightly for my preference, tho. It's certainly a step in the right direction!

This one is my choice, sorc is a rogue class so lighter armor is better imo.

Problem tho, I don't like the pattern on the pants and I would prefer actual boots or somethin.

Yeah I saw those ones and wasn't too keen on the pants either xD [Shame that this game combines the pants and top into the "armor" item]

Though on a second look they don't seem too horrlble xD

The Aker guard kinda works but also as Edgelorde said, too knightly for a magical roguish character.

I apologise xD

It's all fine, just a preference of taste at this point xD

I guess I'm looking for something along the lines of a cloak and scarf :P In outfit form.... Something more... normal? xD

That doesn't involve skintight pants or some kind of "diaper" - as a guildmate calls it.

From the Korean Game Vindictus xD Fashiondictus? :P

Eh, so the sorc class is slutty and emo. Someone had to do it. I choose to embrace it with open arms.
