South Korean studio PearlAbyss, developer of Black Desert, was reported by several local gaming sites that it has confirmed a mobile version of Black Desert is being worked on. The team is still deciding which content from the PC version can be ported over, but stated a new mobile-optimized in-house engine will be used, similar to Black Desert. PearlAbyss expects the game to be ready next year.

Just saw this.... this is really what they want to do to make money from BDO? I don't see how the hell a phone can run this game when most computers have a hard time dealing with it.

Well when their PC ventures are only making ~23% of their gaming revenue from a company that has been lauding focusing on mobile gaming and o2o this surprises you because?

And just because it's a black desert mobile game doesn't mean it will be the same game or even an MMO or even an RPG.

RIP dead game confirmed, developer jumping ship.

Troll confirmed, BDO Mobile Version is just Farmerama, or Auctionshouse stuff.

You really think you can play full BDO on Handy? ROFL

No BDO = No Mobile BDO

and then they'll abandon the PC version.

Another Troll...... No BDO = No Mobile BDO.....

This is not surprising. Giving that KAKAO took over. One on the biggest companies on the mobile market. And as we all know, the mobile market is the best way to milk $$$. Looking at all the mobile games heavily build around micro transaction. At this point we cant even call it micro anymore..

Mobile is the biggest P2W market.

So yea, I am not surprised.

Guessing it ends up similar to this (Age of Wushu Dynasty.. Full mmorpg released some time ago on android/iOS) :

From a technical standpoint its possible. There are already some full MMORPGs on mobile. I just hope they are going to use Vulkan as the graphics API because its superior in every way (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73prhNQwLQs )

Btw this "news" is allready Stone-Old, its just a App that lets you manage Workers, Gardens and maybe Auctions House.....

http://mein-mmo.de/black-desert-faq-genderlock-klassen/

Apps to deal with workers

A question was to find out whether you're working for the future of a mobile app that allows you to monitor and manage about the camp or the workers . The developers show open to such requests , but want to ensure that the players of Black Desert are satisfied in all regions only . " We do not believe that Black Desert is already perfect . " With such a feature in the near future is therefore probably not to be expected .

Not sure where you got this idea.  This news is brand new and nothing in the article suggests what you claim.

Where are you guys getting this idea this is the mobile management app?  You wouldn't need to build a new engine and port aspects of the game for something like this.

It also says right there. It's a mobile version of black desert. It doesn't say it's a companion app for black desert.

Sounds like the perfect reason to sell it. And the perfect reason for me to not buy one.

I strongly prefer mobile games over desktop games.  Plus, in today's market mobile games are significantly more profitable than desktop games (by a long shot).

Press already told about it 2. Month of 2016.

And one time mein-mmo.de called it "mobile version", the other time "mobile app".

It really is just the same, even the planned release 2017.
