Why do Korean players enjoy...

They can't keep this game running on the top 10% of players, the player base isn't that big

Yep, very interested to see how that works for them.

Why do westerns love to play games they don't like and then complain about it?
Why do westerners love to have everything handed to them?
Why do westerners think how they individually feel should be enough to change an entire game?

...losing/failing items due to strict RNG ratings?
...being killed in PVP?

I've yet to find another country on this planet that enjoys losing items and enjoys being harshly punished for trying to accomplish something. Honestly why are Korean's the only country that truly enjoy self punished for trying? Is this a new type of virtual flogging?

If I wanted self punishment I would cast a vote for Hilary Clinton or Donald Trump in the elections. Maybe we should send these two over to South Korea.

Because thoses kind of games are easy ( since you barely have any real control over your progression, there is then nothing hard ) and requier nothing else than time.

Many ppl also forget that this kind of design si blended with a cash shop selling short cut to avoid all that RNG inferno / fail ( and it also "show" your social status to be able to spend load of money on thoses kind of games, so show you have the highest lvl / gear, its very gratifying there, unlike in the west  )

Thoses games "design" are only meant to feed the "rich" players ego vs the "poor" that dont pay cash shop item, so they struggle very hard while all the rich have everything easy.

Its not a real game design, that's just a money making design. And here, since they skipped ( at least for now ) most "p2w" element, thoses games just request you to be a no life, only playing BDO 24/7 and endure that crap gear progression

Ppl are just stupid, they  only think "kr" games are good, because long to progress and """hard" to progress, when obviously, they are not meant to be played that way.

Westerners are looking for something new. The MMORPG market in the west has grown incredibly stale.

No one here is asking for things to handed to them. They are asking for RNG to be less, thus your work and time more reliably rewarded. It completely undermines putting in a months worth of work to get something when someone else puts in a week or less and gets it.

This isn't and individual matter. It is a Western culture matter.

Guranteed rewards though menial tasks are just as terrible. Even more so because more often than not, the tasks are designed so that mouth breathers can even do it and within a few days every single person has completed the task, is running around with the best gear and are demanding something new.

These systems are how you get into crappy tiered gear set treadmills where the game demands everyone do a bunch of new tasks to replace all the gear you just got a month ago.

1. look up which games are actually popular and you will find BDO isn't one of them.

It's gone stale because westerners want everything handed to them and then go "I'm bored".

No it really hasn't. It has gone stale because everyone just basically copies the themepark. It has nothing to do with getting things handed to them. Bored of the same rehashed design.

If you think reducing rng means people get things handed to them, I'd have to say rng simply hands things to some people while overworking others for the exact same thing. Games that do well in the west make gains equivalent to time/effort spent (for the most part). RNG plays less of a role (and those games where it plays a larger role, tend to drop high grade loot like candy so you still feel rewarded) and instead you time invested and or skill are what give yo the rewards.

The thing is: What exactly do you accomplish? You have the feeling you have accomplished something when RNG, by accident, gives you a green light. And when it doesnt, you feel you do something wrong.

RNG in it's core mechanic is totally detrimental.

Play this game for 1.5days straight without sleep and you will see, from a personal experience, how it ruins your mind, when you really identify with it.

My games, as a developer? Would have next to no RNG elements in it. Simply because they do not keep me a great and every-coming audience. What this only can is a skill-based environment. And RNG has absolutely nothing to do with skill.

The only skill, passively, is to not identify with RNG and how it constantly wants you to identify with it, as soon as you "win". That's why I do not care if I fail aswell as I do not care if I "win". Both are detrimental in a gambling environment. Both are addicting. The one through pain, the one through a relief. The relief can only occur when you feel the pain. Is there no pain in the first place, then there is no relief required And you are not getting addicted.

Oh and how many such "settings" do we have in our current society, that have exactly this setup? 80% of our economy as it feels, including "romance"?

... we truly have to improve, on a global scale.

I really enjoy this game and its rng. It just feels so good to get a rare item after hours of farming. And also it feels good after several attempts on a duo weap to get a tri.

I wouldnt play this game if it was easy. Thats why i quit Tera eu (was becoming a carebare paradise).

Best to do is to play duo monitors, watch a sitcom and grind. I feel relaxed, I dont watch every drop to see if it was a good or a meh item and at the end of the day i see my silver in the bank multiply.

Inb4 i'm not a nolifer, i work 40h a week, and have a social life.

Dunno how much time u spend with ur friends a day, or maybe u are still living with ur parents and u call that "social life".

The average mobs around the map feels like there is no AI. They are just mostly static Piñatas for loot. That formed my expectations of the game in the first 15 minutes of playing. This is like an indy game and not a AAA title, so I'm not expecting much from them or my being a long term customer.

Go to valencia and try fighting centaurs, then tell me about static loot pinatas... Enemies in a starting area arent meant to be groundbreaking, think back to Pokemon ffs.
